VCYC will travel to Italy to compete in the 47th International Choral Grand Prix in Gorizia in July 2008. Following in the illustrious footsteps of Voces Cantabiles and Voces8, both of whom won this competition in 2005, VCYC will embark on an 11 day course consisting of 3 days residential rehearsals in the UK and an 8 day concert and competition adventure to Gorizia in northern Italy. With a music list that comprises works dating from 1500 1950, and the opportunity to compete against choirs from 17 countries and 3 continents, this course is an exciting opportunity for the VCYC members to experience choral singing at its most glorious. 17 excited VCYC members travelled to Tallinn, Estonia, from the 17th - 22nd April to take part in the 10th International Choral Competition of Estonia. Competing in both the chamber choir, and the Renaissance and Baroque categories, the choir learnt 6 pieces in 2 days and performed brilliantly in the competition. The choir received some excellent feedback from the other choirs and a member of the jury. Congratulations to all those who took part!
